Greetings, Megafamily!

The time has come to deliver on two key milestones:

• Redeploying the $WEAPON ERC-20 token contract
• Launching $WEAPON staking

These are exciting steps for the Megaweapon project. In this announcement, we want to cover the process of redeployment so everyone knows what to expect along the way. Another article will follow covering details on the staking platform.

And suddenly, in a flash of light and sound, the devs did something.

REDEPLOY OF $WEAPON

What: In order to launch $WEAPON staking, Megaweapon will be redeploying the $WEAPON ERC-20 token contract. This will be a new token on the Ethereum network. Holders of the current $WEAPON token will be sent (airdropped) their exact amount of the new $WEAPON token.

Why: This new token contract includes upgrades related to staking launch, project scalability, and security. To validate these upgrades, the new contract has been audited by Certik.

How: Token redeploys are a very common blockchain/crypto event and the process and tools needed have been well established in the space. The Megaweapon team has been planning and testing this event for months. From a high level, these are the steps of the process:

1. Migration start time announced — The Megaweapon team will announce the exact date and time of migration to the community.
2. Liquidity migration begins — at previously stated date/time, trading of current token will stop.
3. Snapshot — Once trading is stopped, a snapshot of all token holders and balances will be taken. This holder snapshot will be checked and double-checked by both human and robotic eyes.
4. Airdrop — the new $WEAPON ERC-20 token will be airdropped to all holders. In this phase the new token contract address will be shared publicly through all channels.Trading this new token will not yet be live.
5. Validation — When the airdrop is complete, the team will perform another cross-check of the new balances and old balances.
6. New token goes live — Once all tests are confirmed and accurate, liquidity will be added to the new Uniswap pair ($WEAPON/ETH) and trading will be opened!

And that’s it! We have budgeted 24–48 hours to complete this process, with the goal to have it completed in a single day. We will give regular updates to the community throughout the process.

Critical points regarding redeploy:

• The redeploy is anticipated to take 24–48 hours from start to finish.
• During redeploy you will be unable to buy or sell $WEAPON tokens of either ERC-20 contract.
• All holders will be airdropped before trading of the new token goes live.

Questions:

I am a $WEAPON holder, what do I need to do?

Nothing! You will be airdropped the exact same quantity of tokens you currently hold. It is important to hold your current tokens if you want to be airdropped new ones. We will implement mechanisms to ensure no one can ‘game’ any stage of redeployment.

I want to buy $WEAPON, what should I do?

If you purchase now, you’ll be airdropped the same quantity of the new token during redeployment. Depending on how close we are to redeploy (let’s say, hours) you may consider waiting until the new token is live. This is purely an individual choice.
